Synopsis:
"A Walton Thanksgiving Reunion" is the 4th Walton reunion TV movie following the series' cancellation.
This 1993 TV-movie reunites some of the original cast members from The Waltons, the Emmy-award winning series that aired on CBS from 1972 to '81. Back then, the drama revolved around a large, close-knit family in rural Virginia, getting by on hope, togetherness and a modest income through the Depression and the onset of World War II.
Now, however, it's November of 1963, and a Thanksgiving celebration at the Virginia homestead beckons the far-flung clan, including John-Boy once an aspiring novelist, who has become a national TV commentator in New York. John-Boy brings his city-girl ladyfriend Janet up to Waltons' Mountain to meet his family for the first time. However, when President Kennedy gets assassinated, newsman John-Boy must leave to do a televised report, leaving Janet stranded with his quaint family. Meanwhile, Ben and Cindy's daughter, Virginia, has died and Cindy is finding life very lonely without her. She tells Ben that she would dearly love to adopt another baby, but Ben feels that it is not a good idea. Also Ben is arguing with his father about their lumber company for he wants to buy a new truck, but John keeps insisting that they can't afford it. Erin is offered a teaching job, but is unsure how to do that and raise her three children.
