Keck's Exclusives First Look: Desperate Housewives' James Denton Lives Again!

James Denton is proving there's life after death on Wisteria Lane. Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry has invited James, along with a handful of other actors who took their deaths gracefully (ahem), to appear in the May 13 series ender.

"I'm pretty stoked," says the former Mike Delfino. "A lot of great actors will be on that street — Steven Culp [Rex], Roger Bart [George], Richard Burgi [Karl], among others. If you gotta be dead, that's pretty good company." Add Lupe Ontiveros [Mama Solis] to the list, plus at least one more victim who will die in the finale, Marc says. [...]

'Desperate Housewives' James Denton returning for final episode

Former Desperate Housewives star James Denton is set to return for the show's final ever episode.

The actor, whose character Mike Delfino was killed off earlier in the current season, confirmed that he will appear in the May 13 finale.

Mike will be seen with a number of other deceased Housewives characters, including Mama Solis (Lupe Ontiveros) and a Wisteria Lane favourite who will die in the episode.

"I'm pretty stoked," Denton told TV Guide. "A lot of great actors will be on that street - Steven Culp (Rex Van de Kamp), Roger Bart (George Williams), Richard Burgi (Karl Mayer), among others. If you gotta be dead, that's pretty good company." [...]

Desperate Housewives has signed up a few more dead characters to return for the series finale, including Steven Culp, Roger Bart, Richard Burgi and (making me very happy) Lupe Ontiveros.

Roger Bart, Dana Delany, James Denton to Return to Desperate Housewives for Series Finale

Tony Award winner Roger Bart will appear on the May 13 series finale of ABC's Desperate Housewives, according to TVGuide.com

Bart will once more appear as his deceased character, George. Other actors -- whose characters have died -- including stage veterans Steven Culp and James Denton -- will also show up on the episode.

As previously Broadway veterans Dana Delany and Christine Estabrook will reprise their roles as Katherine Mayfair and Martha Huber, respectively, on the episode.

The Dead Invade 'Desperate Housewives' Series Finale

The dead are returning to Wisteria Lane. According to TV Guide Magazine, James Denton and a mix of other guest stars whose characters have kicked the bucket are returning to "Desperate Housewives" for the series finale.

Denton's Mike was shot and killed off earlier in Season 8 -- not before having his death spoiled at former "Desperate Housewives" star Nicolette Sheridan's court hearing -- but he'll be back, along with a lot of familiar, yet dead, faces. Joining the walking "Desperate" dead are Steven Culp, Roger Bart, Richard Burgi and Lupe Ontiveros. More guest stars have yet to be revealed.

Former Wisteria Lane resident Martha Huber, played by Christine Estabrook, is also returning for the finale. Estabrook's character was the one who discovered Mary Alice Young's suicide. Martha was last seen in flashbacks at the start of Season 7.

Dana Delany, another familiar face, albeit not a dead one, is also returning for the series finale.

James Denton returning to 'Desperate Housewives' for series finale

Get ready for a ghost from the past to turn up during the series finale of "Desperate Housewives" later this month. According to TV Guide, James Denton is going to be reprising his role as Mike for the episode, despite the character being killed off by the mob during the February sweeps earlier this year.

Delton also says that there are going to be a plethora of other actors who will be turning up on the show in some form or another, including Steven Culp, Roger Bart, and Richard Burgi. We've already heard that Dana Delaney will also be reprising her role from the past during the show's final episode, and in doing so is crossing over from her new show in "Body of Proof."

The hope here is that the "Housewives" finale is going to serve as a fitting tribute to all of the past seasons of the hit show, and include plenty of past references for longtime fans to go along with carrying on the present story.

The series finale of the ABC drama is set to air on Sunday, May 13.

Steven returns to "Desperate Housewives" for a flashback-filled episode in March

(TV Guide online, Feb 19, 2012, by William Keck)

Keck's Exclusives: Desperate's Walking Dead

Life-changing events on "Desperate Housewives" this March inspire one last flashback-filled episode before the series finale in May. This time, look for reappearances from Steven Culp as Bree's dead husband, Rex Van De Kamp, and Rob star Lupe Ontiveros as Carlos' late mama, Juanita Solis — you remember, the one who got plowed down by Bree's son Andrew.

(Examiner online, Feb 20, 2012, by Matt Carter)

'Desperate Housewives' spoilers: two ghosts from the past return

Before the series finale of "Desperate Housewives" is set to air on ABC this May, some of the residents of Wisteria Lane are going to be forced to deal with a good many demons from their past -- and as an audience, we are going to see some faces that we haven't had the opportunity to hear from in quite some time.

According to TV Guide, Steven Culp is set to return for an episode in March as Bree's dead husband Rex -- meanwhile, we will also see the return of Lupe Ontiveros as Carlos' dead mother. As for whether these two will show up in the form of flashbacks, we assume so -- it's either that or they are imagined by some of the other characters.

With this being the final collection of episodes, we are likely going to see even more familiar faces turn up on Wisteria Lane by the time the show comes to a close.

Actor Steven Culp is returning to ABC drama Desperate Housewives.

TV Guide Magazine report that Culp, an original cast member on the ABC drama, will return in a forthcoming episode. The actor played Rex Van De Kamp, husband of Bree (Marcia Cross) in the first series but was killed off. The actor has returned to Desperate Housewives since his departure for flashbacks – his return this time around will be under similar circumstances.

Steven Culp to appear on "Desperate Housewives"

The ABC drama "Desperate Housewives" has a lot of its cast members returning to the show in the upcoming episodes.

Reports say that actor Steven Culp, who was a part of the original cast of "Desperate Housewives" but was killed off, will return to the show very shortly. Culp was seen as Rex Van De Kamp, the husband of Bree. The latter was played by Marcia Cross. The actor had made several subsequent returns to the ABC drama in the flashback sequences, even after his 'departure'. The present one in question would also be in one such situation.

Next in line is Lupe Ontiveros. She will be seen once again as Carlos' mother Juanita. Her character too died when Bree's son Andrew knocked her down. Hence it can be presumed that she too will be seen in flashback sequences. Shawn who plays the role of Andrew will also be coming back to the show.

Many other old faces will be seen once again before the show reaches is end. The list includes Dana Delany, Andrea Bowen and Kyle MacLachlan playing Kathryn Mayfair, Susan Mayer's (Teri Hatcher) daughter and Orson Hodge, Bree's second husband respectively.

I was hoping he would appear there again and now he does! Yeah! :-D

Feb 12, 2012 News from Mr. Steven Culp himself:
(Thank you, thank you, Steven!)

Last Friday I received a letter from Steven. He expressed his condolences to Kim's death and asked me to extend his sincere sympathy to her family and friends. Furthermore he said he was sorry that he did not inform me and his fans about his appearances on "Prime Suspect" and "Harry's Law".

"I will try to be more informative. I realize it is a disservice to you and the fans when I do something and don't tell you about it. So I will make an effort to get the news out there, when there is news." - Thank you, Steven, thank you!!!

He is also working on something right now, but he is not sure whether he is permitted to speak of it - at the moment. - I wonder what that will be. Hmmm... I hope we will find out soon! :-)

Jan 30, 2012 Just a small update regarding the appearance of Steven on "Body of Proof":

According to the recently published press release for the episode 2.14 (airing Feb 14, 2012), Steven won't appear in that episode either. I guess he will appear in 2.15 that will air on Feb 21, 2012 but so far the press release for that episode has not been published yet.

Jan 19, 2012 Unfortunately it happened again:

Steven Culp was on last night's episode "New Kidney on the Block" of the NBC series "Harry's Law".

I'm sorry I could not post the information before the episode aired, but, unfortunately, I did not know about it. The sites I've kept checking did not provide any information of Steven being on that episode. I'm sorry for those in the US who missed the episode, but there is nothing I could do to have information about his appearance prior the airing.

I'll release some video clips of his appearances on "Harry's Law" on Monday. Captures can be found here.
